2025 Society Newsletter

Dear Member,

Regular donations from members of The 2025 Society are now making a real difference to life at Southend High School for Boys, and the Trustees are very pleased to announce the first example of how the funds are being used.

The Trust has approved a grant of over £8,500 to support improvements to the school’s Wi-Fi provision in the Sixth Form Block and reception area of the school. This infrastructure upgrade will enhance connectivity for students, staff, and visitors, directly supporting learning and the smooth day-to-day running of the school. Without your support this upgrade would not have been possible at this time. We are looking to support other similar enhancements in the future to further support the school’s traditions, ethos and pupil experience. This money would not be readily available from day-to-day funding. 

Upcoming Events

We are planning other events for the rest of the school year for which you will get early notice and invitation to participate or attend. An event currently in planning is a challenge on the world record for a marbles tournament. Progress has been positive, and we hope to be able to give more details soon.

There will be a sponsored bike ride on Friday 10th July, followed by another OSA Festival of Music in the evening. More details of both events are available on our website.  Finally, there will be an exclusive invitation for 2025 Society Members to Sports Day at the school on Tuesday 14th July from lunchtime.

Regular donations made through The 2025 Society and attendance at events will enable the Trust to fund both essential improvements and enriching experiences for staff and pupils at the school. I hope that you will continue to see the benefits of your support.

If you know someone who may be interested in helping the school in a similar way, we would be grateful if you would consider encouraging them to join The 2025 Society, enabling us to reach our target of 200 members by the end of the school year.
